KW:creative
Kurtis Whitelaw of KW:creative is a graduate of the Electronic Communications
Design program at Emily Carr, with minors in typography, and classic
animation at Emily Carr, and Visual Communications at Alberta College
of Art. He splits his passion between the web and print, and he
set his sites high to be a pioneer for the electronic medium, bringing
life to the motionless and continuing to evolve with the resources
as they became available. He stalks the trends in print and works
hard to breathe life to annual reports and other corporate materials.
Kurtis also dedicates a part-time life at Emily Carr as a sessional
instructor for the design department. He teaches studio classes,
motion classes, and typography classes to the next generation of
designers.
Kurtis started his career as a junior designer in a small studio
and worked his way up to being the principal of his own firm. He
has partnered with some of the most influential companies in the
business, and continues to challenge his skills to be qualified
in most arenas, from motion to consulting to print.
Today his clients and partners projects are spread through Canada,
the United States and Europe. With clients whose industries follow
everything from global protection, to Hollywood movies, to jewelry
and more. Holding this diverse portfolio has kept Kurtis excited
and motivated for the last ten years and will certainly keep him
motivated for the next ten.
